Deputies received a report of a disturbance/altercation that occurred at a residence on 280th Avenue near Fort Atkinson involving a dog that had entered someone’s property and was causing safety concerns. A warning shot was fired at the dog to get it off the property and away from children. The dog owner, Robert Neuzil, then drove onto the neighbor’s property and made threats to shoot the property owner and his family if his dog was harmed. Neuzil is a convicted felon and is prohibited from possessing firearms.
Therefore, a short time later, a search warrant/arrest warrant was conducted at Robert Neuzil’s residence. During the search warrant Robert Neuzil was found in possession of a .22 caliber rifle and firearm ammunition.
Subsequently, Robert Neuzil was arrested and charged with Class D Felony Possession of a Firearm by a Felon and Aggravated Misdemeanor First Degree Harassment. Neuzil was transported to the Winneshiek County Jail. This incident remains under investigation.
