1. Quinn McGeough (MFL MarMac High School) Quinn competed at the IHSAA State Wrestling Championships last week. Quinn received a bye in the first round. He then wasted no time when he got a chance to get on the mat winning in the next round by fall in 33 seconds. He won in the quarterfinals by an 8-5 decision. Quinn then lost by fall in the semi-finals and the consolation semi-finals. His tournament ended with an SV defeat in the 5th-place match. Quinn finished in 6th place in the 1A 165 lb weight class at the IHSAA State Wrestling Championships
2. Irelynd Cejka (Prairie du Chien High School) Irelynd took 1st place in the 138 lb weight class at Sectionals this past weekend. She won her quarterfinal match by fall in 41 seconds. She won in the semi-finals by fall in 4:29. She won the sectional championship match by TF 18-3. Irelynds’s performance earned her a spot at the WIAA State Wrestling Championships this weekend.
3. Carter Copsey (River Ridge High School) Carter and the Timberwolves picked up two big conference wins last week to keep their conference title hopes alive. The Timberwolves started the week with a 75-60 win over Highland. Carter had 21 points and 5 rebounds in the victory. The Timberwolves finished up the week with a 63-19 win over Albany. Carter scored 12 points in the win.
