Three people were injured in two separate motorcycle crashes in Grant County over the weekend. On Saturday evening 40 year old Floyd Rarick of Minnesota was southbound on Logan Road was unable to negotiate a curve and put the motorcycle down on its side. Rarick was transported to Mercy hospital for his injuries. Rarick was not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.
Another crash happened Sunday afternoon on River Lane Road near Park Road when 59 year old Dennis Wolter, of Janesville was riding a motorcycle with his wife, 54 year old Brenda Wolter as a passenger. A deer came out of the ditch on the right side of the road in front of Wolter and he may have clipped the deer, causing Wolter to lose control of the bike, eventually laying it down on the left side. The bike slid and then flipped to the right side. Both Dennis and Brenda Wolter remained on the bike. They were both transported to a hospital in Dubuque for injuries. Neither were wearing helmets. The Sheriff’s Office was assisted at the scene by Potosi EMS and the Potosi Fire Department.
