A Saint Olaf, Iowa woman was taken to the hospital following a crash on State Highway 35 near County Highway C in Ferryville. On Friday afternoon 76 year old Janet Montour was southbound on 35 and crossed the centerline and struck a semi-truck / trailer operated by a Tennessee man. Montour had to be extricated from her vehicle by the Jaws of Life and transported to Gundersen Hospital in La Crosse, Wisconsin. The semi driver was uninjured. The highway was closed for 3 ½ hours for clean-up. The Sheriff’s Office was assisted at the scene by the Ferryville Fire Department and First Responders, DeSoto Fire Department and First Responders, Ocooch Mountain Rescue, Gundersen Ambulance, and the Lansing, Iowa Police Department.
