Vehicle Chase Leads to Arrest on Methamphetamine Charges

On February 26, 2025, at approximately 11:40pm a Winneshiek County deputy initiated a traffic stop on a vehicle in the City of Decorah, but the vehicle sped away. The vehicle did not stop at traffic signs and continued at a high rate of speed away from the deputy in the city limits of Decorah and specifically towards Luther College. As the vehicle entered the Luther College campus, the deputy discontinued the pursuit due to safety reasons. The vehicle continued through Luther College’s campus driving through grass and striking a sign while narrowly missing other objects. The vehicle stopped and was located parked in front of a Luther College building with a male subject fleeing from the vehicle. No other occupants were located. Methamphetamine was scattered in plain view inside the vehicle.

A short time later, the driver, Cody Reisner was located at the end of a K9 track still on Luther College campus.

Cody Reisner was arrested and transported to the Winneshiek County Jail on charges:

D Felony Possession of Controlled Substance – 3rd or subsequent (Methamphetamine)

Serious Misdemeanor Eluding

Simple Misdemeanor Criminal Mischief 5th Degree
Reckless Driving

This case remains under investigation with additional charges pending.
