On Saturday, December 21st, 2024, at approximately 1:56 a.m., Sheriff Dale McCullick reports that the Crawford County Sheriff’s Office responded to a report of a one vehicle traffic crash on WI-STH 131 in the Township of Haney. The operator of the vehicle, Gracie Brandau (20) of Gays Mills, swerved to miss a deer, loss control, and crashed into a ditch. She sustained minor injuries and was treated at the scene. She displayed signs of impairment, and she was arrested for operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of an intoxicant. The vehicle is believed to be a total loss. The Sheriff’s Office was assisted by Ocooch Mountain Rescue, Gays Mills Fire Department, and Terry’s Tire & Tow Service.
