On October 22, 2024 at 1:03 p.m., the Allamakee County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a deceased individual located near the railroad tracks west of Postville, Iowa.
Upon arrival, an individual was observed in a small wooded area along the Canadian Pacific Railroad right of way west of the intersection of Empire Drive and IA-18. It was determined the individual had been deceased for some time.
No foul play is suspected and there is no danger to the public.
The individual has been transported to the Iowa State Medical Examiner’s Office in Ankeny, Iowa for autopsy and identification.
This incident remains under investigation by the Allamakee County Sheriff’s Office.
