On Friday, October 4, 2024, at approximately 12:30 a.m., Prairie du Chien Police Officers observed suspicious activity with two people on bicycles on the 1900 block of S. Marquette Road. As officers were engaged in conversation with the bicyclists, further signs of drug impairment were recognized.
K-9 Sheisty was deployed around the bicycles and indicated to the presence of one or more controlled substances that he has been trained and certified to detect. A subsequent search resulted in the seizure of methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia. The two individuals were arrested and transported to the Crawford County Jail for Possession of Methamphetamine, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, and Bailjumping. The Prairie du Chien Police K-9 Unit was also assisted by a Crawford County Sheriff’s Deputy during this incident.
