Lansing Man Seriously Injured in Crash in Clayton County

On Monday, September 16th, 2024, at approximately 1:30 PM, the Clayton County Sheriff’s Office received a 911 call of a semi rollover on Fawn Hollow Rd. near 220th Street. Upon arrival, it was determined a red 1988 Kenworth semi, hauling approximately 6500 gallons of manure, was traveling southbound on Fawn Hollow Rd. when the driver lost control, entered the west ditch, and overturned. The driver, later identified as Danny Cole (73) of Lansing, Iowa, was airlifted from the scene with suspected life-threatening injuries.

The semi Cole was operating was considered a total loss.

Assisting the Clayton County Sheriff’s Office on scene was Farmersburg Fire Department, Saint Olaf Fire Department, Farmersburg First Responders, Mercy One Elkader Ambulance, Elkader Fire Department, Air Care 3, Hennessy’s Towing, and the Iowa DNR. The accident remains under investigation.
