On 7-9-24, at just before 10:00 pm, the Grant County Sheriff’s Office was notified of a swimming incident at a private pond in the Township of Marion near the intersection of CTH T. It was reported that Aaron King, age 21 of rural Boscobel had been swimming at a private pond on a farm with friends. Aaron began to struggle to stay afloat. The other swimmers attempted to retrieve Aaron and bring him to shore, but were unsuccessful. The swimmers were able to flag down a passerby to notify the Grant County Communications Center. First responders attempted to locate Aaron, but were also initially unsuccessful. Aaron was recovered from the pond by members of the Boscobel and Rural Fire Department just after 11pm. The Sheriff’s Office was assisted by Boscobel Fire, Boscobel EMS, Boscobel PD, and the Grant County Coroner’s Office.
