On May 25, 2024, at approximately 9:17pm, Fayette County Deputies responded to an assault at Inspiring Lives. When Deputies arrived the defendant took off running, was apprehended, and a physical altercation took place. During this incident a Deputy was assaulted causing injury. The defendant was identified as Monica Mecedes Davis, age 30 of Waterloo. Davis was charged with two counts of Assault (Simple Misdemeanor), Interference with Official Acts with intent to inflict serious injury (Felony D), and Assault on a Peace Officer with intent to inflict serious injury (Felony D). Davis was arrested and transported to the Fayette County Jail where she awaits an initial appearance from a Magistrate Judge.
