On April 19th, 2024, at approximately 6:58 pm the Fayette County Sheriff’s Office received a 911 call of a vehicle driving recklessly heading into oncoming traffic on Q avenue southwest of Oelwein. After an investigation led Fayette County Deputies and Officers from the Oelwein Police department to a residence where they attempted to speak with the suspect. Joshua Michael Lillibridge, 24, of Oelwein barricaded himself in his residence and refused to come outside. A search warrant was later conducted, and Joshua Lillibridge was arrested for Assault while Displaying a deadly weapon (4 counts) and Reckless driving. He was transported to the Fayette County Jail where he awaited his initial appearance. Lillibridge is also being held on $8,500 cash or surety bond. This investigation is still ongoing, and more charges may be pending. The Fayette County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Oelwein Police Department.
