On 4/13/24 at 4:22 PM the Fayette County Sheriff’s Office took a report of an accident on Town Rd south of Westgate. An investigation determined that Donald Harold Meyer age 77 from Oelwein was operating a Case IH 310 Magnum tractor towing a toolbar and anhydrous tank northbound on Town Rd. The tractor and equipment left the roadway and entered the west ditch causing the toolbar and anhydrous tank to overturn. There was an estimated $100,000 damage. The Sheriff’s Office was assisted at the scene by Westgate Fire and Ambulance, Farmers Win Co-op. Linn County Haz-Mat and Tieskoetter Collision.
