On February 17, 2025, around 11pm, deputies responded to a disturbance at a residence on 134th Ave near Castalia, Iowa. Following an investigation by the Winneshiek County Sheriff’s Office, charges were filed, and an arrest warrant and search warrant were issued. On February 18, 2025, around 7:15pm the Winneshiek County Sheriff’s Office arrested Matthew Zweibohmer (49) of Castalia. Zweibohmer was transported to the Winneshiek County Jail for:
- C Felony Intimidation with a Dangerous Weapon – Injure/Provoke
- Aggravated Misdemeanor Reckless Use of a Firearm – Property Damage
- Aggravated Misdemeanor Domestic Abuse Assault Display or Use Weapon
The Winneshiek County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Winneshiek County Attorney’s Office. This case remains under investigation.
Following a lengthy investigation by the Winneshiek County Sheriff’s Office, on February 17, 2025, around 2:26 pm the Winneshiek County Sheriff’s Office executed a search warrant at a residence on Dogwood Road in Winneshiek County. As a result of this search warrant, Raymond Delagarza (41) of Decorah was arrested and booked into the Winneshiek County Jail for:
- D Felony – Domestic abuse assault strangulation with bodily injury
- Aggravated Misdemeanor Domestic abuse assault strangulation
- Aggravated Misdemeanor 1st Degree Harassment
- Aggravated Misdemeanor 1st Degree Harassment
- Serious Misdemeanor Possession of controlled substance Methamphetamine 1st offense
- Serious Misdemeanor Possession of controlled substance Marijuana 1st offense
