Single Vehicle Crash in Crawford County

On Monday, December 23rd, 2024, at approximately 1:23 p.m., Sheriff Dale McCullick reports that the Crawford County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a vehicle on fire along WI-US HWY 18 in the Township of Bridgeport.

An investigation determined that Tauren Miller-Amunson (17) of La Crosse, Wisconsin, was operating a sport utility vehicle eastbound on WI-US HWY 18, traveled off the left side shoulder of a four-lane highway, across a snow-covered grassy area, and crashed into a dense wooded area striking numerous trees. Miller-Amunson was able to exit the vehicle before the same became fully engulfed in flames. Members of the Bridgeport Fire Department responded to the scene and extinguished the fire. The vehicle was a total loss and towed from the scene by Milo’s Towing Service.

Miller-Amunson escaped the crash with minor injuries, and he was transported by Gundersen Ambulance to Crossing Rivers Health Emergency Room. He was cited for operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of a restricted controlled substance and failure to keep a vehicle under control.
