On September 13th, 2024, at approximately 1 :00 a.m., the Clayton County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a suspicious person on Dove Avenue, rural Elkader. An investigation determined that the individual did not reside there and had been dropped off after a verbal altercation at a local campground. While preparing to provide a ride to the individual, a consent search of property associated to the individual produced illegal contraband. Andrea Anderson (37) of Des Moines, Iowa was charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance (Methamphetamine) and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
