On Monday, August 12th, 2024, Sheriff Dale McCullick reports that the Crawford County Sheriff’s Office K-9 Unit (Diego) conducted a traffic stop on a motorcycle for displaying a false license plate in the Township of Marietta. The operator was identified as Christopher Stewart (36) of Boscobel, and his passenger as Abbigail Hartner (21), of Boscobel. Stewart was discovered in possession of methamphetamine and numerous packages of Suboxone strips. Also, he had several outstanding warrants for his arrest. Hartner initially provided a false name to law enforcement, however, once her correct identify was revealed, she too had outstanding warrants for her arrest.
After the stop, the Richland-Iowa-Grant Drug Task Force, and the Crawford County Sheriff’s Office executed a search of Stewart’s residence and discovered methamphetamine, fentanyl, and drug paraphernalia. Stewart was taken into custody and transported to the Crawford County Jail on charges of possession of methamphetamine, possession of a controlled substance, operating after revocation, and outstanding warrants for his arrest. Also, he will be facing similar drug-related charges in Grant County. Hartner was taken into custody and transported to the Crawford County Jail on charges of obstructing an officer and outstanding warrants for her arrest.
