UPDATE: On August 13, 2024, Brendemuehl appeared before Judge Jennifer Day in Crawford County Circuit Court for a bond hearing. Iowa County District Attorney, Zachary Leigh, requested a $100,000 cash bond for Brendemuehl, which was granted by Judge Day.
Currently, Brendemuehl remains housed in the Crawford County Jail.
ORIGINAL STORY: The Prairie du Chien Police Department is providing an update on an ongoing investigation into allegations of child enticement. Over the past several weeks, law enforcement officials have been actively investigating an individual suspected of engaging in illicit activities involving minors.
On August 12th, 2024, a traffic stop was initiated on the suspect’s vehicle. A search warrant was obtained for the suspect’s vehicle and residence. While conducting a search of the vehicle, a loaded firearm was located and seized. During the search of the residence, authorities recovered various items related to the investigation. Additionally, Psilocybin Mushrooms, Drug Paraphernalia, THC Products, a large amount of US Currency and other controlled substances were located at the suspect’s residence.
The suspect, Chase T. Brendemuehl, 29 years old, of Prairie du Chien, WI, was arrested and transported to the Crawford County Jail where he was charged with 1st Degree Sexual Assault of a Child, Child Enticement, Possession with Intent to Deliver Psilocybin, Possession with Intent to Deliver THC, and Carrying a Concealed Weapon.
The Prairie du Chien Police was assisted on scene by the Prairie du Chien Fire Department.
