On 6-2-24, at approximately 1:30 AM, the Fayette County Sheriff’s Office took a 911 call of a domestic assault causing injury at 1028 Filmore Rd. Elgin IA. Fayette County Sheriff’s Deputies arrived on scene. After an investigation, Craig Alan Lenhart, 54 of Elgin, was arrested and charged with Domestic Assault Causing Bodily Injury, a serious misdemeanor. Lenhart was taken into custody and transported to Fayette County Jail, where he awaited initial appearance. An investigation also determined that Larene Faye Lenhart was found to have a valid mittimus warrant out of Black Hawk County. She was arrested and later transported to the Black Hawk County Jail. The Fayette County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by Elkader Police Department, Clayton County Sheriff’s Office, and West Union Police Department.
