POSTVILLE, Iowa — A joint operation between the Postville Police Department and the Allamakee County Sheriff’s Office led to a significant seizure on Feb. 2, 2024, as part of an ongoing forgery investigation.
The execution of a search warrant in Postville resulted in the successful confiscation of approximately 100 fraudulent identification cards and social security cards. In addition, over $56,000 in cash was seized during the operation.
Authorities have taken one individual into custody in connection with the case. Further criminal charges are pending as the investigation continues.
The Postville Police Department and the Allamakee County Sheriff’s Office have not released further details at this time. The identity of the individual in custody has not been disclosed.
