A former Boy Scout leader in northeast Iowa is accused of sexually assaulting five teenage boys between 2008 and 2018. 73-year-old James Hughes of Cresco was arrested yesterday (wed). He’s facing sexual abuse charges. Court documents say Hughes used his authority to disrobe the boys, saying he needed to track their body measurements for a badge. Police got a report in 2021 about Hughes’ history of alleged sexual abuse, which launched a larger investigation that led to his arrest.
