Area Students Receive BBB Scholarships

Better Business Bureau of Wisconsin has awarded 15 Wisconsin high school seniors each a $2,500 scholarship as part of its annual BBB Students of Integrity Scholarship program. Area recipients include Josephine Eastman of Prairie du Chien Senior High who will be attending Lakeshore Technical College; Brody Kielley of River Ridge High School, who plans to attend UW-Madison; and Evie Whitaker of Iowa-Grant High School, who will be going to Fox Valley Technical College.

Recipients of the scholarship program are chosen primarily based on their personal essay submissions and letters of reference. The personal essay prompts students to discuss an ethical dilemma and describe how they dealt with that issue based on their understanding of integrity and ethics. This year’s scholarship winners discussed ethical dilemmas related to workplace ethics, family values, social injustices, and personal commitments.

The winners will be recognized at the 2023 BBB Ethics Awards Luncheon on Thursday, May 18th, at the Italian Community Center in Milwaukee.
