A Platteville woman sustained minor injuries when the car she was driving crossed the center line and struck a transportation semi. The Grant County Sheriff’s Office says early Saturday morning 39 year old Nicole Fiedler was driving south on Hwy 129. Fiedler informed the deputies that she took her eyes off the road to adjust the heat in the vehicle. Fiedler crossed into the northbound lane and struck a Dohrn Transportation semi, which was being driven by 29 year old Joshua Sullivan of Chippewa Falls. Fiedler struck the driver’s side of the semi and trailer, coming to rest in the middle of Hwy 129. Sullivan was able to bring the semi to a stop at the shoulder of Hwy 129. Fiedler was wearing her seat belt at the time of the crash and was transported to the Grant Regional Health Center in Lancaster with minor injuries. Fiedler was arrested on four outstanding warrants and was cited for, no insurance, inattentive driving, operating left of center, failing to register a vehicle, and displaying unauthorized registration. Sullivan wasn’t injured in the crash.
