Only minor injuries occurred as the result of a two vehicle head on crash Thursday afternoon in Grant County. The Grant County Sheriff’s Office says 41 year old Bradley Fure of Cassville, was driving a truck westbound on Highway 81and fell asleep behind the wheel and crossed the centerline into the eastbound lane. Fure’s vehicle entered the path of a car driven by 19 year old Rylee Wagner of Lancaster. Wagner swerved to the right to attempt to avoid a collision, but the vehicles collided at the front driver’s side corners. Wagner’s vehicle entered the ditch on the north side of the road and came to a rest. Fure’s vehicle continued through the ditch until eventually coming to a rest down an embankment. Both drivers were wearing seatbelts. Fure sustained apparent minor injuries and Wagner was uninjured. Fure was cited for Operating a Motor Vehicle without Insurance and Operating Left of Center.
A Bagley man faces charges following a one-vehicle crash last Monday. The Grant County Sheriff’s Office says 37 year old Curtis Nelson lost control of his car and drove off of the roadway, into the south ditch where he struck a culvert and overturned. Nelson had been observed traveling at speeds near 75 mph by a separate deputy responding to an emergency situation just prior to the crash. Nelson admitted that he lost control of his vehicle on the wet roadway just prior to the crash. He was wearing his seat belt and was not injured in the crash. Nelson was cited for Operating While Revoked, No Insurance, and Failure to Maintain Control of his vehicle.
