The City of McGregor has been working on flood preparations for over a week. The Corps of Engineers, Clayton County Emergency Management, and the fire department are also assisting the City. Flood walls are being put in place, as are other protective measures. Through the use of an automatic sandbagger provided by the fire department, the public works department has been able to fill sandbags at a more efficient rate than has been possible before. As officials continue to monitor the situation and evaluate the resources needed, the city will put out a community notification if or when need volunteer assistance with sandbagging or anything else. The City of McGregor will also be posting flood updates at cityofmcgregoriowa.com.
