One person suffered minor injuries when the semi they were driving overturned at the intersection of Highway 52 and 18 in Clayton County. Sheriff Mike Tschirgi says the accident happened about 5:15 Friday morning, October 7th.
The semi was westbound on Highway 18 with a full load in tow. While turning southbound onto Highway 52, the driver lost control, and rolled the tractor-trailer onto its passenger side, coming to a rest on the west shoulder of Highway 52. The driver received minor injuries and was transported to Crossing Rivers Hospital in Prairie du Chien.
Tschirgi said that speed appears to be a factor in the crash which remains under investigation.
Assisting on the scene were the Monona Fire Department, MFL Ambulance, Iowa DNR, and the Iowa State Patrol.
