Mar-Mac Police are investigating a hit and run that occurred in the 900 block of West Main Street in McGregor. The department says a vehicle left the roadway and struck a mailbox as it entered a residential yard and continued into the neighboring residential yard before damaging a memorial display and plant.
Nearby witnesses told Police the accident may have occurred around 2:30 Saturday afternoon, and the vehicle was an older white pickup truck driven by a young male with a ball cap. One witness stated it appeared the young male may have tried knocking on the doors of the house.
