The Prairie du Chien Common Council met Tuesday night at approved two capitol borrowings. One was to cover the city’s share of the cost of the Villa Louis Road project schedule for 2023. They also approved refinancing the library bonds to get a lower rate and extend the payments. City Utility Director Larry Gates reported to the council that voluntary sampling of PFAS in the city’s wells showed Prairie du Chien well below maximum limits. The council approved a request for proposals for Assessor Services for the City of Prairie du Chien. They also discussed the closing of the Fisher Street railroad crossing on St. Feriole Island, and will send that to the public works committee for further discussion.
