The Clayton County Sheriff’s Department responded to two accidents on Saturday. The first accident happened on Highway 18 near the Postville city limits. A car driven by 74 year old Beverly Miner of Postville was traveling east on 18 and failed to yield upon making a left turn and collided with a westbound motorcycle driven by 72 year old Daniel Prunuske of Beaver Dam, Wisconsin. Prunuske was taken to Veteran’s Memorial Hospital then transferred to Gunderson Lutheran in La Crosse with non life threatening injuries. Miner was not injured and charged with failure to yield right of way upon making a left hand turn and failure to use her safety belt.
Also on Saturday, a car driven by 51 year old Rufino De La Cruz Campos of Lancaster was traveling south on the Great River Road near Red Avenue when Campos lost control, entered the ditch and overturned. Campos and two passengers received minor injuries but refused medical treatment. He was cited for failure to have a valid driver’s license, no insurance, and failure to maintain control.
